While an estimated 50 MILLION Americans suffer from allergies every year, we don't believe that is necessary. Many people just give up and take over the counter or Rx medications to help alleviate the symptoms of their allergies: the runny nose; itchy, watery, puffy eyes; sneezing and wheezing. Is this suffering really necessary and are treating the symptoms, not the source, the only options? Of course not!
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can help alleviate the symptoms and reduce or even eliminate allergic reactions in the body entirely through the use of acupuncture, herbs, and diet. Depending on your symptoms, the doctor can provide specific treatments and prescribe the correct herbal formulas for your specific type of histamine reactions.
What can you do to help your immune system fight the allergy reaction? Eliminate inflammatory foods such as sugars- be it processed, alcohol, or flour. Doing so can alleviate inflammation in the body. Introducing foods that support your immune system and lower inflammation can also help eliminate the allergy symptoms. Foods such as garlic, onions, berries, and spicy peppers have all be shown to help reduce histamine reactions in the body when allergies flare up.
